Insurance for international students

It is St. Olaf's policy that each one student maintain adequate insurance. This requirement is in situ for the protection of the students.

The international student policy is obtainable through EIIA. Visit their website for details. Eligible students enrolled at St. Olaf must complete the waiver or enrollment form per annum on EIIA’s website. Students must complete the 2020-2021 form by 11:58 pm Wednesday, September 24, 2020. If the waiver form has not been completed by a waiver-eligible student before that point, the student is going to be automatically enrolled within the St. Olaf policy, and therefore the $1,650 premium is going to be non-refundable. The waiver must only be submitted once per academic year.

Waiver Eligibility

Eligibility to waive the international student insurance plan and replace it with a thought that meets the insurance requirements is decided by your student status:

New incoming international students for the 2020-2021 and international students who matriculated within the 2019-2020 academic year won't be ready to waive the insurance and can be automatically billed and enrolled within the international student insurance plan.

Students who have started before the 2019-2020 school year are eligible to waive the international student insurance plans for the 2020-2021 school year. Students can only waive if the student has adequate alternative health insurance coverage that's valid.
